On the occasion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, ERO invited to Prague the European energy regulators’ most senior representatives to regular meetings of the CEER General Assembly and the ACER Board of Regulators on 20 and 21 September respectively.
The key point on the agenda of both meetings was discussion of the EU’s legislative proposals and the plans of extraordinary measures to cope with high energy prices. In addition to discussing the proposed emergency measures, the energy regulatory authorities’ representatives also assessed the performance of European gas markets and networks in recent months. As part of CEER, they also set up a new working group called the Rapid Reporting Team, where regulatory authorities can look into the issues arising from the European energy crisis and high energy prices together and on time.
